Simplicity wins business at Rork Projects

We helped Rork Projects to simplify years of haphazard designs and templates; reconnect the design to their branding, and create a flexible layout for proposals that was easy to understand for their clients.

Studio Riz began with the content strategy. After reviewing 200+ pages of content, we worked in collaboration with Rork Projects to simplify this down to around 60 key pages, which staff could select from to use based on their clients’ needs. As we went, we also re-ordered pages into clear sections for better document structure.

As most of Rork’s client interactions are digital-first, print-second; we settled on a landscape format to optimise graphics for use in presentations and online. Utilising a grid system, we focussed on creating a clear and easy structure that was flexible.

We loved the aboriginal roots of the Rork’s brand and didn’t feel like it shined. After testing, we developed a way to use the brand elements tastefully, whilst keeping professional. Our artists infused their brand colours and aesthetic into all their infographics.

These infographics were reiterations of previous ideas the team at Rork tried to get across to their clients. We felt that the graphics could be more straightforward and reworked many designs into new, easily digestible formats.

Our templates were created in InDesign for the advanced users in the company and a replica version in PowerPoint for everyone else. Once complete, we adjusted our design for an online platform called Qwilr to allow Rork’s Business Development team to securely accept approvals.

Post-delivery we ran a training session with the advanced users to walk through some tips and tricks to utilise automation in their templates.
